Your side of the story: I was attempting to calm tensions a bit with a funny video or two without considering that it might not help the situation.
Why you think you should be unbanned: In short, I didn't think that it might help at the time which I genuinely apologize for. I'll make a mental note to think about how to respond to such situations without being disruptive to others or their current conversation.

Yea you seem to understand why this is a problem. We know you had good intentions but it was you and at least 6 other people all trying to do the same thing and all it did was piss off everyone else who was involved in the argument.
