Having had a couple of my roommates try the server out, I can see how things can get a bit meta, even when trying to avoid it.

I'll support+ this appeal. All for giving second chances.

I remember this. The issue wasn't that you were OOC buddies playing characters that were IC buddies.
The issue was that your buddy was playing a character that was your character's bodyguard, and specifically that they weren't playing at the time on the shift in question while you were, and then the moment your character got into trouble, your friend joined as security and beelined for you. This is the point where it crosses the line, calling in an assist from outside the game to come and help you the moment you get into trouble isn't just metabuddy, it's metagame/metacomms.
