Isn't most all of our security force made up of ex-SWAT LCDR hyper-trained navy-marines?
Or maybe I'm just reading correlation rather than connection. :P

Jeremiah Acacius:

Last I checked, no. No they aren't. If they were:

A: They'd brag about it. (IE: finished training, never seen combat)
B: They'd be competent. (IE: seen combat)

Pick one.

I was a town guard before signing on as a commissioned officer for the then Federation of Gaia's starfleet. I never really got to finish my formal training due to the Bloody Valentine War but saw combat that entire year. Finished the war with the rank of Lieutenant Commander and maintained that until we made first contact with Sol and NT. My service in Starfleet security thereafter got me my Commander Rank and eventually my Captaincy while working with NT.

On this station and on most missions, no combat. On a couple of occasions I HAVE had to shoot some people, but only because they came at me.

My job is PROTECTING.

There's a new name. I had to look yours up. Bodyguard duty for the administrator? Nice. Ever served with ERT?

Also, ever met that Zulu guy? No one seems to know his actual name. He's an ass to pretty much everyone on the station except Dhaeleena.

Most of sec that I have seen, say they have training yet don't, and or say they've been and done combat, but have barely even shot at a firing range.

Eh, honestly, would working as Sec on more combat-filled stations count at all? I've seen some crazy shit happen on those, man. Crazy shit.

Doubt I'll ever be military in any form. I have issues dealing with authority figures that have a stick up their ass. And I'd be too tempted to want to go at it with the Drill Instructer at boot camp if that's still a thing.
