the map used to have an incinerator, but it was never used and therefore removed. That was where the abandoned room near engineering is. As for Xenobio, the monkeys are better suited to just stuff em in a locker and drag it to the kitchen. Slimes, though toxic if used in food, once they are dead, they stay dead. From the perspective of NT it would probably amount to, they are not a threat, and spacing things is cheaper than the fuel to burn things.

Yeah, the main purpose of the incinerator as far as I can tell is to put changelings in it and give tators a sneaky place to make singletank bombs.

Actually, the idea of a slime incinerator isn't inherently terrible, and makes sense world-wide.

What if, instead the huge airlock version, we gave them a version of the champion's crematorium?

Or, we could, port in the slime processor, enter dead slime, out comes slime core

The incinerator didn't incinerate anything. It was a ghetto bomb mixing room and nothing more.

If you want to burn slimes away into ash, it's a crematorium you want.

then that... wait why wouldn't an incinerator incinerate things... code problems?

no, simply it was never coded in for most things to turn into ashes at certain temps, probably to avoid checking every cycle if fire was hot enough.

You have the cremator for burning down things

I don't think it'd be a good idea to have carbon mobs potentially turn to ash in a hot enough plasma fire. The human body is notoriously difficult to actually burn.

It requires a direct jet of fire at over 593*C, and "an average human body takes from two to three hours to burn completely and will produce an average of 3 to 9 pounds (1.4 to 4.1 kilograms) of ash."

Would kind of suck anyway to be unclonable because a plasma fire went on too long.

so some kind of crematorium then? where would you even put it in the lab? or would it be expanding the size to add it? could maybe extend the medical and surgery sections by a block or two east and add it in there somewhere. ooh, and one of those cryostasis bags if there isn't one. gonna die? seal yourself in
